Sizes (System Texsolv)

How to measure heddles?

If the length of a heddle is unknown, it can easily be measured. To do so, stretch the heddle by the use of two sticks (as the pictures shows) and hold it against a measuring tape to determine the lenght. Moderate tightening

ATTENTION! Do not measure in the cut piece.

What size heddle should i buy?

The size depends on the loom you have. The heddles are referred to in the following way; The first number: length in mm, the second number: length of the eye in mm. If you're unsure of which loom you have, it’s fine to measure as described above in the "FAQ."

What size tie-up cord should i use ?

Our tie-up cord (U-cord) comes in three different sizes:

• U-cord (1/12)
The most commonly used size. Thin and flexible yet incredibly strong, with a breaking strength of 80 kg. Perfect for most standard loom applications such as tie-ups, shaft connections, and lamms.

• U-cord (1/12, 3-thread)
A slightly finer version of the standard cord, made with three threads for a slimmer profile. Ideal for lightweight looms, smaller tie-ups, or situations where minimal bulk is preferred.

• Heavy cord (1/20, “beam cord”)
Thicker and stronger, suitable for heavy loads such as counterweight rollers or warp beam aprons. Provides extra durability and stability where additional support is needed.

All Texsolv cords are made from high-quality, low-stretch polyester, ensuring long-lasting performance and consistent tension.

See our document on how to use the tie-up cord (U-cord).
